According to an opinion poll conducted by TNS OBOP (Public Opinion Research Centre) ordered by the Institute of Renewable Energy, Poles are interested in using renewable energy technologies. Nearly half of the respondents are willing to invest in renewable energy installations.

According to the research undertaken by TNS OBOP, Poles are looking for renewable energy installations. As many as 45% of the respondents claimed that they are interested in investments in the sector, 21% of them are ready to invest in domestic renewable energy sources themselves within the nearest two years.

The data provided by the Institute of Renewable Energy show that as many as 223 thousand Poles have already invested in such micro-installations (sun collectors, heat pumps, domestic wind turbines, biomass boilers, micro biogas stations or domestic photovoltaic systems). According to the same data, the micro-installation market is currently worth 4.5 billion PLN and it may increase up to 26.5 billion PLN in 2020.  The Institute estimates that the mere investments in domestic micro-sources systems would then amount to 12 billion PLN resulting in 1.9 GW capacity increase.
